First sample
An initial build to validate construction, proportion, look and feel against your brief before detail work begins.
Turn a sketch, reference pair or tech pack into a confirmed, manufacturable sample - with fit and finish revisions and a clear cost before you commit a single dollar to bulk.
Your files stay confidential - NDA available on request.
Samples that prove cost, fit and finish.
Sampling is where most footwear risk is removed - or hidden until it is expensive. A physical sample exposes everything a flat drawing cannot: how the upper sits on the last, whether the overlay pattern bonds cleanly, how the midsole density feels underfoot, whether the outsole flex grooves land where the foot actually bends. We build that pair, give DFM feedback, and iterate until it matches your intent and your target cost.
The process is deliberately staged. The first sample validates construction and proportion - it answers "is this the right shoe?" before anyone fusses over a stitch. Revision rounds then dial in fit, materials, colour and finish. The final round confirms the pair against the agreed cost and freezes it. That frozen pair is the golden sample, and it carries weight: it defines bulk quality, drives the inspection checklist, and settles any later dispute about "what was approved".
We are candid about manufacturability. If a material won't hold a print at your price, if a wall thickness will sink-mark, if a knit needs a counter it doesn't have, we say so during sampling rather than letting it surface in bulk. Realistic sampling beats over-promising - it is cheaper to change a sample than to scrap a container.
Costing is tied directly to the confirmed build, not a hopeful estimate. As materials, branding method and construction settle, so does the price, so the number you approve at golden sample is the number that carries into bulk. For where sampling sits in the wider workflow, see OEM / ODM development; for what the sample unlocks, see bulk production.
Lead time for a development sample is typically 15-25 days, driven mainly by tooling needs and material availability. Stock-component builds move faster; new last or mould tooling adds time, which we flag up front in the sample plan.
An initial build to validate construction, proportion, look and feel against your brief before detail work begins.
Staged fit, material, colour and finish adjustments until the pair matches intent and the agreed cost.
Transparent cost tied to the confirmed construction, materials and branding - the number that carries into bulk.
A signed reference pair that defines bulk quality, drives inspection and settles "what was approved".
A good sample partner removes risk and surprises - not just a pretty prototype, but a costed, repeatable definition of the product.
We build for bulk, not for a one-off hero shot, so the sample actually scales.
The price you approve at golden sample is the price that carries into production.
The signed pair defines quality and ends disputes about what was approved.
Each stage answers a different question, so you only pay to refine a design that is already proven to be the right shoe.
Validate the core: construction, proportion and overall look against the brief.
Dial in fit, materials, colour and branding finish; iterate until it matches intent.
Freeze the confirmed pair, lock the cost, and sign it as the bulk reference.
Send market, category, size range, target material, logo and quantity. Tech packs or reference pairs welcome.
We review construction and branding, flag DFM issues, then return a sample plan and quotation route.
We develop the sample, adjust fit and finish, and lock the golden sample before bulk.
In-line and final inspection, then carton marking, packing list and ship-ready export documents.
Share the market, product category, size range, materials and logo requirements. We reply with construction options, sample plan and pricing route.
