For Retail Chains

Retail programs come with rules: labels, barcodes, carton marks, AQL and tight delivery windows. We build to those requirements so your DCs accept the goods on first receipt.

The challenge

Built to your program rules.

Compliance buyers can rely on.

A retail program rarely fails on the shoe - it fails on the details around it. The fear for a buyer is a chargeback: a scannable GS1 barcode that doesn't match the PO line, a carton label in the wrong format, a polybag without the required suffocation warning, and the goods get refused or fined at the distribution centre. We treat your routing and packaging manual as a build spec, integrate the labelling, barcode and carton requirements into production, and verify them at final inspection so the program lands clean.

Barcode and labelling discipline is concrete: correct UPC/EAN encoding, the right symbol size and quiet zone so it scans first time, pair labels with style/color/size, and carton labels (often GS1-128 / SSCC) to your DC's format. Care and content labels, country-of-origin marking and any retailer-specific hangtags go on per your manual. Get these wrong at scale and the chargebacks dwarf the unit cost.

AQL is non-negotiable in retail. We inspect finished goods to the AQL your program specifies - commonly 2.5 major / 4.0 minor - covering construction, bonding, sizing, finish, labelling and packing, and we document the result. Third-party inspection (SGS / BV / Intertek) is welcome and we coordinate access against the signed golden sample. See the inspection checklist.

Carton compliance protects your DC throughput: inner and outer carton marking to your format, pack quantities and ratio configurations to your planogram, max carton weights for safe handling, and pallet/cube data so receiving flows. We supply carton dimensions and weights up front so your inbound logistics can plan.

Schedule discipline closes the loop. Retail floor dates are fixed; a slip means lost sell-through and markdowns. We plan sampling and production backward from your delivery window, flag risk early, and keep specs held to the golden sample so a multi-store program is consistent across every carton. The retail-buyer reality

Their pain points vs how we de-risk it

Their pain points

  • Non-scannable or mismatched barcodes trigger DC chargebacks.
  • Carton marks or labels in the wrong format get the load refused.
  • Missing care/content labels or warnings breach the packaging manual.
  • A blown AQL means the program lands as a quality claim.
  • A slipped floor date forces markdowns and lost sell-through.

How we de-risk it

  • GS1 UPC/EAN and GS1-128/SSCC labels built and verified to scan against your PO.
  • Carton marking, pack ratios and weights built to your routing manual and checked at final.
  • Care, content, origin and hangtag labelling applied per your packaging manual.
  • Documented AQL inspection to your standard; third-party QC welcome.
  • Production scheduled backward from the floor date with early risk flags.

FAQ

Questions from this segment.

Can you follow our retailer labelling and routing manual?
Yes - provide the labelling, barcode and packaging/routing manual and we build production to it, then verify every item at final inspection before the goods ship.
Do you apply GS1 barcodes that scan at our DC?
Yes - we apply UPC/EAN product barcodes and GS1-128/SSCC carton labels with correct encoding, symbol size and quiet zone, and verify they scan against your PO data so you avoid chargebacks.
Do you inspect to a specific AQL?
Yes - we inspect to the AQL your program specifies (commonly 2.5 major / 4.0 minor) covering construction, sizing, finish, labelling and packing, and we document the result. See the inspection checklist.
Can you pack in our planogram's ratio packs?
Yes - we configure ratio or solid-size cartons to your assortment, mark inner and outer cartons to your format, and keep carton weights within your handling limits with cube data supplied up front.
How do you protect our floor date?
We plan sampling and production backward from your delivery window, flag any material or schedule risk early, and hold specs to the golden sample so a multi-store program stays consistent across every carton.
Can a third party inspect before shipment?
Yes - you can book SGS, BV, Intertek or your own QC team for pre-shipment inspection. We coordinate access and provide the signed golden sample as the reference standard.
