OEM / ODM Shoe Development

Build exactly to your spec (OEM) or develop from a proven base and adapt it to your brand (ODM). Either way you get design-for-manufacture feedback, realistic sampling and a clean, costed path to bulk.

What's included

OEM and ODM, clearly separated.

Two routes, one disciplined workflow.

OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) means we manufacture to your design and tech pack. You own the design and intellectual property; we engineer it to be manufacturable, source the materials you specify or approve substitutes, and run it. This route suits brands that already have a defined aesthetic, a CAD or hand-built reference, and a bill of materials they want held across reorders.

ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) means you start from one of our developed base styles - a running platform, a training last, a vulcanised casual silhouette - and adapt material, colour, branding, sole and trim. Because the construction and tooling already exist, ODM is faster, cheaper and lower-risk for a first line or a fast capsule, while still letting you control the parts buyers actually see.

Both routes share the same engineering discipline. Every project starts with a design-for-manufacture (DFM) review: we read your tech pack or brief against real construction limits and flag anything that will hurt cost, fit or yield - a mesh GSM that won't hold the overlay pattern, an outsole rubber coverage that fights your weight target, a midsole density that conflicts with the price point. You get those trade-offs in plain language before tooling is cut, not after a failed bulk run.

From there we build a costed sample plan, develop the pair, and iterate on fit, materials and finish. When the construction, fit and look are right and the cost is agreed, we lock a signed golden sample. That pair becomes the contractual definition of bulk quality and the reference for final inspection, so order three matches order one. See sample development for how the iteration rounds work, and bulk production for what happens after sign-off.

We work from sketches, a reference pair, a partial tech pack or a complete spec - whatever you have. We do not copy trademarked designs; we develop a manufacturable interpretation of your intent and confirm it on the sample.

  • Design-for-manufacture (DFM) review with material and construction guidance
  • Costed sample plan with defined revision rounds
  • OEM build-to-tech-pack or ODM adaptation of base styles
  • Size-grade development and fit checks (EU 36-46 / US grades)
  • Branding and packaging integration from the start
  • Golden-sample sign-off that defines bulk quality
  • NDA or mutual confidentiality agreement on request
Capabilities

Capability cards.

OEM (build to spec)

We manufacture to your tech pack and design, flag manufacturability issues during DFM, and hold your bill of materials and tooling across reorders.

ODM (base designs)

Start from a developed base style and adapt upper material, sole, colour, trim and branding for a faster, lower-risk launch.

Sampling & DFM

Development samples with engineering feedback so the design hits its cost, fit and quality targets before bulk is committed.

Scale to bulk

From confirmed golden sample to in-line-monitored, AQL-inspected bulk production with stable, documented specs.

Why choose us

What you get with OEM / ODM development

The value is not just a factory slot - it is the engineering judgement that keeps a design manufacturable and a spec repeatable.

Honest DFM, early

We tell you what is and is not buildable at your price before tooling is cut.

  • Material and GSM guidance
  • Construction trade-offs in plain language
  • Cost flagged at design stage

Two clear routes

Pick OEM for full design ownership or ODM for speed and lower upfront cost.

  • OEM build-to-tech-pack
  • ODM base-style adaptation
  • Mix-and-match components

Repeatability built in

Golden sample and held tooling mean reorders match the first run.

  • Signed reference pair
  • Recorded bill of materials
  • Locked size grading
OEM vs ODM

Which route fits your project

Choose OEM when

  • You own a defined design and tech pack
  • Design ownership and IP control matter
  • You want a unique last or sole tooling
  • You can fund development and tooling time
  • You plan repeat seasonal programs

Choose ODM when

  • You want to launch fast and lean
  • You are testing a first line or capsule
  • Existing tooling keeps cost and risk low
  • You will differentiate on colour and branding
  • You want to validate before investing in OEM
Order workflow

From submit to delivery.

01

Submit specs / upload files

Send market, category, size range, target material, logo and quantity. Tech packs or reference pairs welcome.

02

Engineering review & quote

We review construction and branding, flag DFM issues, then return a sample plan and quotation route.

03

Sample & confirm

We develop the sample, adjust fit and finish, and lock the golden sample before bulk.

04

Production, QC & export

In-line and final inspection, then carton marking, packing list and ship-ready export documents.

FAQ

Common questions.

What's the difference between OEM and ODM?
OEM means we build your design to your tech pack and you own the design and IP. ODM means you adapt one of our existing base designs. ODM is usually faster and cheaper to launch; OEM gives full design ownership and a unique build.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes. We can sign your NDA or provide a mutual confidentiality agreement before you share designs, tech packs or sample references.
Can you help if I only have sketches?
Yes. We work from sketches, a reference pair, a partial tech pack or a complete spec, and develop a manufacturable sample with DFM feedback along the way.
Will you copy a branded shoe for me?
No. We do not reproduce trademarked designs or logos. We can develop a similar construction or a fresh interpretation that is legally yours and confirm it at sampling.
Do you own the tooling I pay for?
Tooling ownership and storage are agreed in writing per project. Where you fund dedicated lasts or moulds, those terms are set before development begins.
Can I start with ODM and move to OEM later?
Yes, and many brands do. Launch fast on an ODM base, learn what sells, then invest in OEM tooling and a unique build once the volume justifies it.
